A Personal Approach to Home Health Care

It is with great pleasure that I am writing this review for Home Care Connectors of Greenwich CT. They were able to provide an exceptional CNA , Sakhile , the day after I called them. I had major back surgery and needed alot of help with daily tasks. I had an unpleasant experience with my previous caregiver from another agency so I was reluctant to try again. I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised.
Sakhile , my CNA, is one of the brightest, kindest , gentlest humans whom I have ever had the privilege of meeting. He is always at least one step ahead of me ,offering exactly the right amount of care and support which is ever changing. He cheers me on and encourages me. He lets me think that I’m doing it on my own even though he’s constantly paying close attention to what I’m doing and is always there if I stumble . He has a great sense of humor and is a brilliant chess player.
He has helped me through a difficult time physically and emotionally as I very recently had to put my 92 year old mom into an assisted living facility. He has become a dear and trusted friend who has brought me much joy.
Every one who I have communicated with at the agency has been profession and kind . Again, I highly recommend Home Care Connections of Greenwich CT

Highly recommend Health Care Connectors in Greenwich! My home nurse was Gladys, who provided me with the physical and mental care I very much needed after my surgery. Our connection was immediate. Her genuine warmth and caring manner put me at ease as it was easy to see that she was there to give her all to make me comfortable. With her excellent professional experience and background knowledge, she was able to answer all my questions. Her added knowledge of wound care gave me the comfort and reassurance that all was going well before my post op doctors appointment.
Gladys has the unique ability to problem solve and assess a situation before making a decision. A characteristic I found very helpful. She very patiently listens, giving value and support to my pain and then offering information that proved very helpful.
I cannot say enough positive about her care. She was exactly the person I needed to help me. I am extremely thankful to her and commend your agency for hiring such an exceptional individual!

The HomeCare Connectors team is amazing! JP is a fountain of knowledge and advice on navigating what is a really tough time, and one that most of us (luckily) don’t have to go through often. He and the team were always available to answer questions and went above and beyond in caring for my dad’s partner. It is with pleasure that I recommend the services of Home Care Connectors and particularly Tutu Olomela, administrator to assist with in-home care. Our specific needs of 24 hour care included transport, caregivers, nursing and physical therapy. Tutu was there to respond immediately, offering flexibility of services in a kind and considerate manor. Financial accounting was accurate, thorough and dependable. And most important, the caregivers were competent, caring and professional.

Home Care Connectors is the ultimate in professional, caring, and coordinated assistance in the home. Whether it be post-surgery, chemotherapy, or aging in place, this is the best available. Starting with the owner, JP sets the tone and high standard of excellence, caring, competence, and attention to detail. All the aides that I have had were exceptional, different in many ways, but each capable and caring.
My favorite aide is Monica F., who loves to cook, and since I love to eat, it was a great match. Her positivity and sunny outlook were contagious, as is her energy. Also a favorite of mine is soft-spoken Angela J, whose quiet manner belies a strong personality and hefty experience which shines when the situation demands action.

My sister and I were looking for in-home companion care for our 90 year-old parents who still live independently but needed help getting to the grocery store, doctor appointments, and more. My sister Donna lives an hour from our parents and works full-time for a busy medical office. Being available and ‘on-call’ for our parents was becoming more difficult. Donna wanted to help, but wasn’t always able to do so. She felt guilty and increasingly concerned for our parents’ safety and well-being. I felt helpless because I live 1,800 miles away. I wanted to make things better for my parents AND my sister.

We took the time to interview several home care agencies in Fairfield County and like most adult children with aging parents, we wanted to be sure mom and dad would be well taken care of and in the hands of caring, compassionate, and trustworthy people.

JP and Heather drove nearly an hour one-way (typical I-95 traffic!) to meet my sister, my parents and me for the first time at our parents’ home. They explained companion care to mom and dad who were skeptical at the thought of allowing aides (total strangers) into their home. By the end of their visit, JP and Heather made us all feel well-informed and at ease scheduling the first companion appointment for our parents.

When you speak with JP, you feel like you’re talking with a member of your family who cares about your parents’ health and well-being the same way you do. He called or emailed my sister and me regularly to ensure we were feeling good about the level and quality of care mom and dad were receiving. What business owner personally extends that level of customer service these days?!?

JP’s compassion and empathy are true and transparent. His team helps take the worry and weight off your shoulders as you navigate this unfamiliar and emotional process. I want to share my sincere thanks for the outstanding job that Home Care Connectors has done for our family. Having just moved my mother and father (both in their mid-80’s) to an assisted living facility, we found ourselves in need of additional services. Home Care Connectors was right there, willing to step in with an hours’ notice. The owner of the company JP Muir and Heather Flaherty, RN, were at my parent’s apartment to perform an assessment in an hour; that is unreal customer service. Upon reviewing their needs, they selected Fleurise to provide them with home care assistance. Fleurise is a true professional and knows how to handle her elderly clients.
My father passed shortly after, and Home Care Connectors has been there, providing grief support, elderly aide, and shoulder to lean on for my mother. She could not have made it through if it weren’t for the love and compassion of the dedicated team at HCC. Likewise, my family was comforted knowing mom was in such good hands.
I can’t recommend Home Care Connectors (JP, Heather, and our favorite aide Fleurise) enough. From the smallest of matters to life-changing events that happened with our family, they stand prepared to assist in a friendly, gracious, and expeditious manner.

I would give Home Care Connectors 10 stars if I could! They are wonderful: experienced, caring, reliable and always available to help out. They found the best care giver for my mom, and David oversees how they are doing on a continual basis, stopping by regularly to check in and say hello. Over the last fifteen years, we have used several hone care agencies in the Greenwich area, but none of them have come close to providing what we need. I am so happy we found them!

How can I begin to share the incredibly personalized and professional care and psychological and emotional understanding and responsiveness David, Yorqui and JP provided my family? Elder care is not an exact science. It is an ever changing landscape that can move fast and furiously with many movable pieces. David and his team of skilled and compassionate aides stayed with us through every curve in the road on terrain that was new for all of us in my family. Adaptive, creative, flexible, hands on. I had worked with another agency whose CEO had met with my parents once, and then never showed up again. David and his team were personally invested and deeply caring. They navigated all the natural resistance independent elders with anxiety of losing dependence can show in away that allowed my mother to eventually melt into trust and realize we were empowering her. I remember the first day David came to meet my parents. He treated them with the dignity of the people inside that they always were, and as my father’s health and strength deteriorated, David and his team never lost sight of his inner dignity and greatness. They have been and continue to be a blessing to my family. Ethical to the core.

I’m so grateful to Home Care Connectors, who swung into action upon hearing that my husband was in the hospital for unexpected surgery and would require 24/7 supervision for at least a week upon his release. Not only were they easy to reach and super responsive to our last minute request, but they were flexible on the start date/time given that his release date moved around a bit. Upon arriving home from the hospital, the owner met us there to personally evaluate the situation and figure out the very best way to meet our needs, along with introducing us to the aid who would take the first shift. Throughout the week, all of the aids provided were high caliber and their support was key to his successful recovery. Highly recommend!

I have ALS. I need help to do the big and little things in life , like dressing, eating, communicating, and breathing. My aides need to be intuitive, caring, skilled, and patient. Every day. All the time. Those are non negotiables.

When we partnered with JP and his company, Home Care Connectors, for my care, we received all of these necessary traits and so much more. JP’s initial conversation with our family led to a true partner in my first aide. JP placed Yaw with our family, and we are forever grateful . Yaw was not only impressive in his skill and professionalism, he was insatiably curious – learning with us as my needs progressed. Yaw, like JP, made me feel truly seen and heard. He became part of our family.
Yaw has since moved into HCC’s leadership team, ably helping to manage and mentor the agency’s aides in the field. While we miss seeing Yaw every day , he is a regular visitor – a resource for my current aides and a treasured friend to our family.

That level of care and skill has not wavered with my current lead aide, Nabila . Nabila has spent over a year with our family, navigating my needs, including a few scares, with calm, confidence, and no small measure of humor.

I am still working full time, and that would not be possible without aides comfortable in a highly interactive professional setting . I am a school administrator, and my days routinely involve traveling to and around campus, visiting classes, meeting with colleagues, and working with families . To do my job well , I need a partner in an aide who is not only comfortable in these settings, but truly enjoys it all. JP heard this need in our first meeting, and Yaw and Nabila have delivered.
